Our Story

Operation Surprise Attack was born from my love for children. Soon after my nephew was born with spina bifida, I saw a news report about a little boy in Michigan who received thousands of cards and gifts from all over the world.  He passed away right before Christmas and his entire community got involved to make his last days his very best days.

This act of pure kindness touched my heart in a way that was never expected. Now that I had a nephew who was facing many hospital visits, tests, surgeries and therapy, I decided to make sure that children like him would be encouraged to never give up in their fight.

Lisa Fulton

Founder & President

Lisa, a graduate of Victory Bible Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has dedicated her life to making a positive impact on children. Her journey began by working in orphanages in Guatemala and the Philippines.

Upon returning to the United States, Lisa embarked on a remarkable 20-year career as a Professional Nanny. During this time, she founded Operation Surprise Attack, initially a Facebook group that has since evolved into a nonprofit 501c3 organization. This incredible initiative provides crucial support to numerous families each year.

Lisa’s inspiration stems from her love for her nephew, who was born with Spina Bifida, and a local news story featuring a boy with cancer who wished for cards from around the world.

Lisa’s unwavering commitment ensures that children facing severe or rare health challenges discover strength and inspiration in the face of adversity.

Jill brings a unique blend of professional expertise and personal experience to Operation Surprise Attack. She holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Bowling Green State University. For 22 years, Jill served as a therapist at Harbor (formerly Behavioral Connections of Wood County), where she dedicated her career to supporting individuals’ mental health and well-being.
